How to explore

Explore your way.

Three ways in — a mouse, a touch screen or hand tracking with your camera — and the same worlds. Nothing to install, and nothing you have to do the same way twice.

  1. Mouse and keyboard

Move the pointer and the world follows. Hold the button to gather or catch something; let go to release it. The wheel, or the up and down arrows, opens and closes what an open palm or a fist would. Left and right change worlds.

  2. Touch

Slide a finger to move. Rest it for a moment to hold; lift it to release. Two fingers, spreading or closing, do what an open or closed hand does. The arrows beside the world name step to the next one; the name itself opens the atlas, where a swipe moves between worlds.

  3. Hands, with the camera

Only if you choose it, the camera looks for a hand and the picture stays in the browser. Point to move. Pinch to hold, then let go. An open palm and a fist change how a world breathes. A horizontal sweep of the palm, without a pinch, steps to another world.

The first time

Open Explore directly and you can enter freely, or with your hands. From the landing, Enter and explore opens Nebula and skips that welcome. The camera stays off until you ask for it.

Move, hold, release

These three actions are a family, not a rulebook. Moving usually stirs what is in front of you. Holding gathers, catches or charges. Releasing lets it go — a wave, a bloom, a note. Each world answers in its own way.

Camera and sound

The camera control, or the C key, starts and stops hand tracking. The picture is read in the browser to follow a hand; the privacy page describes what stays here and what is counted. Sound is silent until you turn it on, from its control or with S. It follows what you do, and it stops when you leave the tab.

Settings, and what changes

P opens settings for light, glow, trails, reduced motion, pausing idle movement and volume. Graphics quality and language are separate choices; advanced hand tracking comes after them. Sound stays off until you turn it on. Once you are inside, a short hint names the main action of that world.
